The Bement School
The Bement School provides both day and boarding education
to children from kindergarten to ninth grade. Students of
Bement
School
are taught to accept responsibility for all their work and actions to create
students who are multi-cultured, academically diverse and international in character.
The Bement School is located in the town of Deerfield
where its campus buildings consist of historical colonial homes found near
modern structures holding the library and classrooms of the school. Students of
Bement
School are taught the importance of a
family and take its concept seriously.
The four colonial boarding houses; Barton House, Stebbins
House, Bement House and Wright House were once homes to families but today are homes
to boarders of Bement school. The students in the boarding houses are made to
stay so that an international student and a student from a different culture
stay in a single room. This ensures the usage of English; and thus it promotes
improvement and cultural exchange among the students.
In addition to regular classes,
Bement
School
conducts summer programs to provide students with a cross cultural experience
where English is practiced in a relaxed and friendly environment. This program
is a combination of language projects, activities, travel experiences and
cultural interaction.
Students of
Bement
School participate in
sports, activities and hobbies on completion of studies. The weekends provide
on-campus opportunities to its students like games, relaxation with friends and
craft and cooking. The biking programs of
Bement
School
teach its students bike safety and maintenance trips to different locations.
Other programs that are offered in
Bement
School
include candy making, African drumming, strumming, songwriting, basic baking and
nature trips to nourish a love for nature. There is also a French exchange
program for students studying in the 7-9th grades with students of
the L’Ermitage School of Maisons-Laffitte of
Paris.
