The
Bolles
School
The Bolles School, located in Jacksonville, Florida, is a
private college preparatory school with an international reputation for
excellence. It has more than 1,800 boarding and day students from
pre-kindergarten to grade 12 on four campuses.
With a 100% success rate in terms of college
bound seniors, Bolles focuses on a complete education that emphasizes
excellence in academics, the arts, athletics and other activities like clubs
and community service. Students pursue their interests and learn to balance a
rich variety of activities.
Although The Bolles School was founded as an
all-boys military school back in 1933, the school dropped its military status
and began admitting girls in 1971. Today, both male and female students are
recognized each year with awards and scholarships for both academic and
athletic achievement.
The Bolles School also has an excellent athletic
program. Both the boys and girls programs are recognized nationally for overall
excellence. Middle and
Upper
School students are
encouraged to get involved in sports, regardless of their athletic skill level.
93% of students are involved in some kind of athletic program. Students are also given an
opportunity to develop and share their talents through the fine and performing
arts programs. Students learn to play musical instruments, to sing, or to
develop their artistic abilities through music, drama and art classes.
The Bolles School Middle School and Upper School
Housing offers boarding students a safe and comfortable environment. Each
boarding student is provided with a host family, and a Mentoring Program allows
Upper
School students to mentor new boarding
students, which lead to strong bonds which equally benefit both student and
mentor.
