11. Opposition Defiant Disorder (ODD)
A condition that is characterized with defiant, hostile and uncooperative behavior. The symptoms are usually noticeable both at home and school. The causes of ODD are still unknown, but both biological and environmental factors have contributed to ODD. Most children with ODD are demanding and inflexible from a very young age.
12. Peer Pressure
It is the influence that teenagers have on each other. It largely depends on which types of group a teenager is in with, which can be good or bad. For instance, troubled teenagers who are with gang members, drugs or alcohol are influenced by bad peer pressure. “Bullying” is also a type of peer pressure.
13. Residential Treatment Center
A facility that provides treatment, care and therapy to teenagers who have behavioral, emotional and learning problems. It has a safe and healthy environment for troubled teens, with professionals on a 24-hour supervision. The said center is a state-licensed program that concentrates on the specific needs and issues of teenagers, such as depression, suicide and violence.
14. Specialty Boarding School
Boarding School Designed to help teens that are struggling in their home school or community.
15. Teen Anger
A feeling or an emotion (never a behavior), usually an outburst, that is expressed as resentment or outrage. Some teens suppress their anger and withdraw, but others tend to be more destructive towards property and even people.
