6. Binge Eating
An eating disorder, also known as “emotional overeating,” that is characterized with careless or mindless overeating. Most teen kids use it as a coping mechanism against emotional ordeal or low self-esteem.
7. Bulimia
A common eating disorder especially among young people. The person usually eats all he or she wants and then makes themselves throw up to get rid of the food, so there is no possibilities of gaining weight. Bulimia is difficult to distinguish, since most bulimics manage to keep their body weight. A bulimic often sticks a finger down the throat so food will come out. Among its signs are obsession over food or calorie, worry about weight, signs of vomiting, mood swings and even depression.
8. Bullying
It involves repeated behavior of an individual or group towards someone. It usually happens in school. The main goal is to make the other person more vulnerable or weaker. It could be a direct attack (hitting, intimidating, threatening and name-calling), or indirect attack (spreading rumors).
9. Conduct Disorder
Conduct disorder in a teen is when they have a difficult time obeying rules as well as behaving themselves. It is usually accompanied with other conditions, such as ADD, ADHD, behavioral problem and learning disorders. There are number of causes that result in such a condition. They include brain damage, genetic vulnerability, traumatic incident, school failure and child abuse.
10. Intervention
An occasion when family members, friends and professionals reach out and help a troubled teenager. It is executed as a form of therapy. The simplest form is when parents talk or communicate with their children, but extreme cases require longer and more innovative method, such as sending the kid to a boarding school.
