Behavior modification camp- Professional training for adolescents!
A behavior modification camp is a facility of sorts, in which adolescents that display antisocial behavior are enrolled in order to get their behaviors corrected. Mostly, people that suffer from ADHD are the ones that enroll in such camps, because it allows them to meet and befriend others who are also suffering from the same anomalies, hence giving them a sort of ‘mirrored view’ of what they might look like in public too. These facilities are spread all over the world, and hire psychiatrists and trainers in order to help the adolescents in correcting their behaviors.
Numerous techniques are used in order to alter the behavior of children, with positive reinforcement and negative reinforcement being mainly used. This type of camp is also known as a youth residential program, and it provides a proper place for people to live in. There has been serious controversy regarding these types of camps, as people have often been forcefully admitted in to such programs, or there have also been reports of violence within the camps.
Students have been known to be subjected to different types of punishments, which are not considered legal, and this has led to a serious defaming of such camps. However, the success rate of a behavior modification camp is much higher as compared to home or standard training, which makes it a viable choice for parents who are unable to handle their child on their own. Joining a therapeutic boarding school is also a great option for such children, as it gives them an option of equal treatment, and also prevents them from feeling left out from the general crowd. Some of the camps are run by the state, while others are private and they often charge money for their services.
