Causes of childhood aggression
Aggression in children can lead to a number of problems for the child him/herself and for others as the individual won’t be able to control his/her temper in the future as well. Aggression, especially in children, is not normal and doctors claim that a violent behavior in children should not be ignored and steps need to be taken in order to help remove this aggression. Aggression can cause a child to do a variety of things which he/she should not do including regular fighting, swearing, arguing with adults, damaging property, bullying and spitting. These can all be the problems caused by an individual if he/she faces aggression.
One of the causes of childhood aggression is frustration. If a child is frustrated all the time, he/she is likely to show a very violent behavior. Frustration can be caused by a variety of reasons including lack of rest and sleep, family problems etc. Stress is also regarded as one of the causes of childhood aggression and if a child is stressed all the time, it is likely that he/she will show a very negative behavior. Therefore, if you feel that your child gets aggressive easily, you should see if he/she is stressed out due to school and tuition activities or sports.
Possibly the most common reason is violence in the family. If there is a violent behavior in the family and if the child is exposed to that particular behavior, then he/she would be able to adapt that particular behavior. Therefore, a negative behavior should not be shown by the parents in front of their child.
Lastly, influence of others can lead to an aggression in children. If a child has an aggressive friend, then he/she is likely to adapt the behavior from his/her friend. Therefore, you need to make sure that your child is in good company.
